Fancott Miniature Railway 7 ¼ inch
The Fancott Miniature Railway first opened in 1996. The original Fancott Light Railway was 10 1/4 inch gauge railway which was opened in 1975 but by 1986 the railway had closed. It was operated by Mr E Harper who built the steam outline locomotive that operated trains. It was called Fancott 2. The 10 1/4 inch gauge railway was rebuilt in 1996 to a 7 1/4 inch railway, trains being operated by a Romulus called 'Freddy' which left in 2001. The line runs for 3/4 mile in the beer garden on 'The Fancott' pub. Trains are now operated by 'Pippa' a petrol hydrauclic shutner engine, 'Herbie' which came from the Southall Light Railway and a class 47 locomotive. Steam locomotives visit for events regularly.
