Wells & Walsingham Light Railway 10 ¼ inch

The railway first opened in 1982, the brainchild of Roy Francis, who had opened the Wells Harbour Railway six years previously. This line is much more ambitious, and is the longest of its gauge in the UK. Built on the trackbed of a former branch line, trains run from Wells, where the main station, signal box and sheds are based, to Walsingham on a typically rural route. Locomotives comprise of Garratts 'Norfolk Hero' and 'Norfolk Heroine', with diesels tram 'Weasel' and 'Norfolk Harvester' being used as standby. 'Pilgrim' which ran the lines original service is here on loan, currently on static display.
