John Rennie returns to Ruislip Lido

12 inch gauge locomotive John Rennie has returned to the Ruislip Lido Railway in Ruislip, Middlesex after conversion from hydraulic drive to electro-mechanical drive by Alan Keef Ltd of Ross-on-Wye.

The locomotive had been out of use for over a year due problems with the hydraulic drive and also worn wheels. Once commissioning and driver familiarisation has been completed, it is expected to be in use during the coming daily running period in July and August.

Sister locomotive Bayhurst will travel to the Keef workshops for the same conversion to begin once John Rennie is back in traffic.
