Gypsy Wood Miniature Railway 10 ¼ inch

Gypsy Wood Park is a children’s activities and animal park near Caernarfon, North Wales.  It is the home of an extensive G-Scale garden railway layout with over 500m of track, but in July 2014 “Woody’s Railway” was opened to add to the enjoyment of its visitors. The railway runs for approximately 0.75km around the park lake and through woodland to a tear-drop loop which returns the train to the station. The purpose built station consists of a covered platform, with a turntable feeding an enclosed run-round loop which acts as the running shed.  All equipment for the railway was provided and installed by Cromar White, based close by on the Isle of Anglesey. Motive power is provided by a 4hp Island Class 0-4-2 battery electric steam outline locomotive, closely resembling a Kerr Stuart Tattoo Class engine. Two 4.6m sit-in air-braked covered coaches accommodate up to 24 passengers per journey.
