Crewe Heritage Centre Miniature Railway 7 ¼ inch

First opened in 1992, the railway runs within the centre originally branded 'The Railway Age' and more recently transformed to Crewe Heritage Centre. The line which is 600 yards long, is unusual in that it has three stations, Crewe Old Works, Forge End and Midge Bridge, trains passing the prototype APT on site and North Junction Signal Box. Since being taken on by volunteers in 2008, significant improvements have been made including station and stock restoration, and the addition of a new petrol locomotive. Trains are normally operated by internal combustion locomotives, with Jenny the Hunslet locomotive which hauled many early day trains, recently been overhauled and used in traffic occasionally.
