Buxton Miniature Railway 12 ¼ inch

The Buxton Miniature Railway first opened in 1972 as 10 ¼" gauge line. Trains were intially pulled by 'Borough of Buxton' a Shepperton Metal Products locomotive, later joined by a large steam outline locomotive from Steam Powered Services, though the Meteor did still operate the majority of trains. In the winter of 1998, the line was regauged to 12.25" to accomodate the Alan Keef stock. The route has always been a circuit, though now there is now a tunnel/shed, rather than a spur to a seperate shed.
